We are specialists in subtitling for the deaf and hearing-impaired. We consult with deaf and hearing-impaired viewers and collaborate with experts to improve the quality of these special subtitles. TITELBILD is an active member in an Initiative to provide better access to the cinema for Germany’s hearing-impaired and partially-sighted communities.
One in every seven Germans is deaf or hearing-impaired. Subtitles give access to the media to this important target group. Producers, distributors and broadcasters can increase audience numbers by providing teletext or open subtitles for all their distribution channels.
TITELBILD specializes in subtitles for the deaf and hearing-impaired for cinema, DVD and television. The epic production, “The Lord of the Rings”, and “Luther” are two films which were subtitled for German deaf and hearing-impaired cinema audiences. “Luther” was the first feature film to be shown in a German cinema with subtitles specifically for this target group. For its work on the project TITELBILD was awarded the prestigious German Film Innovation Prize.
