Twice yearly TITELBILD holds a 40-hour introductory subtitling course at its main office in Berlin. This intensive course is designed for professional translators and university lecturers who wish to gain additional qualifications and insight into this important field of audiovisual translation.

The course includes theory, group discussions and a section on the technical aspects of subtitling. It focuses on practical exercises which give participants the opportunity to subtitle film clips. Our experienced trainers and other course participants provide valuable comments and critique.

TITELBILD cooperates with various broadcasters and universities in Germany and elsewhere in the field of training and translation for the audiovisual media. It runs train-the-trainer programmes and subtitling courses for broadcasters and as part of university curricula.

Managing Director Mary Carroll lectures on request on various aspects of subtitling and translation for the audiovisual media and provides consultant services on access to the media and audiovisual translation.

TITELBILD is a partner in a number of EU projects and conferences specializing in languages and audiovisual media, e.g. the MuTra series, Languages and the Media, Media for All.
